How can a missing form book an abortion?
He still hasn’t said where he hallucinated that little nugget, in the first place. Forms don’t go missing. The seriousness of the two doctor thing is deliberate, so that they are culpable and police each other. Any incorrectly filled forms will be sent back.

Abortion requires the approval of two doctors to go ahead. NOTHING, in any of MBK’s waffle or deflection will ever change that. He was wrong.

And it can't proceed because it needs those 2 doctors to "approve"

Well done, but it took you days and pages of squirming
Nothing that MBK has said or stated thus far changes one stunning little fact, I.e. two doctors are required to approve an abortion before it can go ahead.

NOTHING CHANGES THAT.

Is it up to you to decide how somebody goes about making their argument? A huge amount of weight has been put on the importance of signing the HSA1. Aren't you even a tiny bit curious about its actual legal status?
In terms of the argument i.e. does an abortion require the approval of two doctors before it can proceed?

No. It has zero relevance to the debate. However, this little nugget is highly relevant to the argument and puts to bed once and for all that MBK was wrong...

Requirement for two doctors' signatures

84. The Abortion Act 1967 requires that an abortion under ground A to E is certified by two doctors, who must each sign a Department of Health HSA 1 form to give notification that the abortion has been approved and on what grounds, and an HSA 4 form for information including patient details, the method of abortion and gestation time.

This was written in a Parliamentary report specifically about abortion.

No

Why?

A = Because an abortion doesn’t happen unless form HSA1 is completed…..so the reality is that an abortion has to be approved by 2 doctors.

Banging on about the legal status is a deflection

Any theoretical abortions that might’ve happened are a result of an administrative error.

The actual legal status is that women have a right to have an abortion, so the system must be set up to allow that. The system is set up to allow that. Doctors are not allowed to make moral judgements, but they must approve every abortion to comply with legal and medical criteria.

The legal status of whether a doctor can be prosecuted is a deflection

You still denying that abortion destroys a human life
It’s not a human life.

In 90% of cases it’s just terminating the result of a young couple having sex.

It’s perfectly sensible to not force that to become a child.

Maybe if they had listened to others instead of listening to people like you and had their child, then 200,000 woman and 200,000 children would be alive today.
A win win for all concerned
I’ve told you numerous times, making abortion illegal does not reduce abortion rates.

Stop projecting your nonsense

Notch - you should read https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/19-20/34 to update yourself on the status of an unborn child.

Punishment for child destruction.
(1)Subject as hereinafter in this subsection provided, any person who, with intent to destroy the life of a child capable of being born alive, by any wilful act causes a child to die before it has an existence independent of its mother, shall be guilty of felony, to wit, of child destruction, and shall be liable on conviction thereof on indictment to penal servitude for life

Abortion is still illegal in the UK. The Act facilitates abortions to make them lawful, as long as the terms of the Act are followed. One of those strict terms is that two doctors MUST approve the abortion. They do this via a signoff (and date) on a HSA1 form.

Everything MBK has said since the two doctor thing has been deflection and waffle, regardless of whether some of it is true or not.

Nothing changes this....

You can keep stating it, but its the law according to Noseall the builder who relies on his subscription to glamour magazine for his legal knowledge and a report produced by a select committee.

You need to read the whole of it - inc paragraph 17.

"Everything MBK has said since the two doctor thing has been deflection and waffle, regardless of whether some of it is true or not."

Make up your mind.

I detect a slow climb down.

Denso isn't interested in the law - its irrelevant
Noseall wants to cling to a select committee report now that he's read the law and realises he was wrong.
Notch still refuses to accept that unborn children exist and have legal rights.
and carman - well I think he's still catching up.

and we still don't know what the OP wants to change about the UK set-up to make it "as good" as France, when in fact its vastly better and has been for decades.

Not me that's catching up.

It's the solicitors clerk doing that.

You've admitted and agreed, don't try and swerve again.

Hence why a UK charity which facilitates abortions for people overseas cites France as it's third largest client base after Poland and Ireland.
