I need to shift a meter onto a new wall.

well YOU CANT MOVE IT not even if you know where they turn it off

you must contact transco(southern gas network or whatever they are calling themselves this week) and pay for them to move it

Thanks chaps, but the wall the meter is on is coming down in 2 days and I need to get a move on.
They have said six to eight weeks after the quotation which takes a week.

What if I just shift the whole thing in its box, bend the yellow pipe a bit, tape it up nice and safe.

Then Transco can pop it back on to the new wall when we finish.

OMG dont.
they will kick your arse mate

you will just have to wait for them

Time is money for us builders, and we don't make a lot.

as kev says mate you WILL be commiting and offence, reckless endangerment of the person and property springs to mind

do it and see that your feet dont touch the ground as they drag you away

I am willing to pay to get a hurry up.

I mean, do you chaps know how they actually turn offthesupply to a property?

Do they have to dig up the road or just flick a switch at an exchange?

Would £50.00 in the right direction do the trick?

Thanks for your help my friends.

I feel my days as a builder in this country might be numbered if I keep getting held up like this.

I Don't have this problem in Spain or Poland. Everyone has a blind eye.
