Re: Bathroom Pull Switch
If only 3 wires are at the switch then somewhere above ceiling the live, neutral and earth for both the fan and lights MUST be jointed. The switch on really interrupts the live, so the 3 wires at the switch represent live / switched live and earth. Y...

Re: Help with FCU and new wall tv
Can't you go via underfloor and save a pile of messy chasing out of walls. Easier route normally, and then run 2 x TE2.5mm cables and extend the ring to the new double socket. From the 'new' double socket run a spur for the TV. It's quite normal for ...

Re: Old damaged skirting boards
Depends.......... If the skirting pattern is unique / unusual then you won't be able to replace them off the shelf. Your need to get a sample down to the wood yard and use the bespoke skirting profiling service. My 10 Edwardian skirting cost £45 for ...

Re: how to fix chip-board flooring to a new concrete slab . . .
Wouldn't it be better to use external grade plywood? Why aren't you cementing the tiles direct to the floor ? New concrete at this time of year could take 3 months to season and cure to an acceptable low moisture content.

Re: Socket heights in a dwarf wall
Would look a bit daft if you did :D If the whole property is a new build then if the wall height allowed you'd be oblidged under part M I think to do it. But it isn't a new build, isn't practical and thus the location is down to you and your clients ...

Re: Carpetfitters
Cash on completion is hardly rare. None of the carpet sheds will deliver and fit unless full payment is made before delivery. Add in that when goods are in a customers property, and the customer decides they don't like the colour / made a mistake, th...

Re: New floor dilemma
I'd go with getting some soft wood- 4mm x 20 or 25 or 30mm the measurements depend on the size of the expansion gap + 5mm . Stain and oil it to match the floor and use it via nail pins in to the flooring instead of a scotia, quadrant or whatever you ...
