Re: 12V LED lights and DC?
I'm well aware that LED's work on DC not technically correct, they will work on AC but only on one half cycle.. , but it was specifically the LED replacements for the halogens that I was interested in as they will obviously have some sort of rectific...

Re: Part P from a consumers viewpoint

Re: SWA cable run
PV is just as likely to cause damage to persons or property as on grid installations if it's done badly.. so yes it would fall under Part P in E&W.. it may not be notifiable, but that's a different kettle of fish..

Re: small wind turbine home built
have you considered using the 12V directly? if you change all of your lighting to 12V then connect directly to the batteries then you won't have any losses in the inverter.. you would of course need a fairly large transformer and rectifier for when y...

Re: i (need to re-use the tiles )
just re-tile the whole room.. mom and dad just did theirs for about £120.. well that's the cost of just the tiles and adhesive and grout.. the labour was extra obviously but if you DIY then that's free..

Re: Help! noisy neighbours from hell... soundproffing is needed
don't fix the stud wall to the existing wall, defeats the object as sound will be transfered to the stud wall... might even make it worse since you're then providing a large flat area that is slightly flexible... instead build your stud wall about an...
