Yes, seen that cheers but doesn't help my problem if I don't have the rads warming up sequentially but as in my case the upstairs 'zone' is sharing the main flow as the downstairs so two rads are warming up at the same time in effect.

If you're doing the hole at a low or high height where you can't get behind drill and sure to keep it straight then use a 4.5 bit or bigger

I'm wonder what use TRV's are sometimes. If it's warm downstairs too, then turn temperature down at boiler. Might even save a few quid.

The FAQ has a good section dedicated to that subject. If you've got a pump or a pressure guage it's fairly easy to recharge or check the expansion vessel.
