BEN will be related to the part. The factor will know there are different makes of caliper on that model. That will be to let them know which one it is. I wouldn't rule out your local scrappy either, lots of cars are scrapped with brand new parts on ...

If any tradesperson has to go back to a job to do snagging, then the job wasn't done properly to begin with. And if it wasn't done properly, then it's not finished. Reason enough not to pay in full until evrything is done properly. Just my opinion.

If the carpet fitter was self employed, he would have been contracted by the shop. Therefore his contract would have been with the shop and it is the shop that should have paid him.

I agree with Ebee too. I think it's only fair to wait for a written bill to come in. Besides, what if the carpet looks all wrinkled after a couple of days?
