covering the mains cable

I'm gladding the porch and in the process, covering the mains cable coming into the house from the outside meter box, should I mark the place to say its there, so that no-one in the future wacks a nail through into it and die's? whats the score with this?

It is always a good idea to have an idea it is there or make it as such that is isn't possible to drill or screw into it (mechanical protection)- what sort of cable is it? Any piccys?

I could put the cable on the surface but seems a shame.

Is that the feed from the meter to your cu?
Might be an idea to upgrade it and move at the same time rather that just moving it
