why do i have to keep logging back in?

There is no immediate solution at this time. I'm having trouble reproducing the problem which makes it harder to investigate.
Do you click the 'Remember Me' box when logging in before this problem occurs?

No, access to the CC is determined at our end and does not affect login sessions.
Never had that problem for years, but recently it has happened a few times. It's not the logging in that's the issue, but there seems to be an associated problem that when I do log back in it's lost all knowledge of which topics have new posts in them.
Overall though it's infrequent and random enough that I wouldn't expect it to get resolved - it goes onto the "just one of those things" list...
