I want to order some of the above to repair a PCB.

You seem to be able to get "tab up" and "tab down" types. I presume that this just refers to the "tab" on the RJ-45 connector and whether it it at the top or the bottom of the socket.

Does anyone know if the pinout is different (i.e. reversed)

ISTR that the footprint is different on them that way too so that they do not get mixed up.

But the sure fire way of checking is compare the data sheets of both.

Do you want plain connector (I.E. from Toby or magjack types like linked to earlier?

Also note the direction of view of the footprint, either from solder side or looking through the PCB.

What is the one that you need to replace?
can you show a picture?

I have an extensive collection of connectors & may be able to locate a direct replacement for you.

I can't post a picture at the moment becasue the unit has gone off for calibration.

The ones on my unit are the AMP brand and are marked AMP 6 inside.

look very much like the ones on the toby website & Toby are very good at sending out samples, just make some excuse up about developing a new product & would like a sample to try ;)
