New to testing and inspecting and not sure about a couple of parts of the installation cert! Could sumone help please?

Supply Characteristics and Earthing Arrangements
Supply Protective Device Characteristics:
Type..... Not sure
Nominal Current Rating... Not sure

I no breakers have type b,c,d etc but not sure what the above is??

Particulars of Installation Referred to in the certificate
Maximum Demand: ..............Amps per Phase
Its is a 3 phase supply, each incoming phase is protected by a 60A fuse is this it?

Main Protective Conductors
I have filled in Copper and csa of 16mm for main earthing conductor, and copper and csa of 6mm for Equipotential bonding conductors but underneath it just says: To incoming Water and or Gas service, To other elements.
What do I put in here????

Appreciate the help guys!!!

If you are struggling to fill out the EIC should you be doing the work in the first place?

It is usually written on the service head cutout fuse holder.
If not, look in your reference books to determin this, or enquire with the DNO.

Use diversity to work out the max load per phase of the installation.

Were the any other services introducing a potential into the equipotential zone?

Why are your PEB's not 10.0mm²??

The supply characteristics are the characteristics of the supply ;)
The supply protective device is the DNO fuse(s), in your case you say they are 60A. Could be BS88 or BS1361 II ?
Max demand is you calculated demand after diversity - shouldn't be more than the supply size.
Is there anything else which needs protective eq bonding i.e. oil supply, metal structure, lightning system?
Is a 6mm PEB large enough?

Bah, beaten by Rob!

Try extending your education with the NICEIC book Inspection Testing & Certification which covers such issues in some detail

Sorry meant to put 10mm! Yeah it is a type IIa BS 1361 so im ok with that now!
Ill have to look up about applying diversity to get the maximum demand. So each phase is protected by a type IIa 60A 1361 fuse, what would the supply size be? 60A? Sorry to sound so thick.

60A is the nominal current rating of the supply protective device.

The diversified load is the maximum demand per phase.

How on earth can you have done the the 17th and not know how to do these "basic" forms? Any course would install the requirments for testing as there is some difference from the 16th edtition etc.

Ive been a industrial spark for 9 year installing containment for the best part of it! When you do a course you learn a lot but cant be expected to remember everythin!

No wonder they are importing the Polish to carry out electrical checks in the UK LOL.

This board is full of dodgy electricians who cant even fit a plug

There are no Polish in Halifax.
