Help!
The pressure on my Vaillant Turbomax is at 0, meaning that I have no or very little hot water coming through, particularly in the bathroom. I had a similar problem over a year ago and the plumber told me that the gauge should be at about 1.5 - but can't remember for the life of me what I do to get it back up to that!!
I'm sure it was something to do with the taps beneath the system - but am too scared to fiddle too much in case I do any damage!

Advice needed pls. :?

Hi,

under the boiler there may be a silver braided hose with either one or two taps on it. You need to turn the tap to replenish the boiler/system presure to 1.0 bar cold pressure. Just turn it till u hear a rush of water and look at the pressure dial.....

Yup - I do indeed have the silver braided hose - and 2 taps.
Will give it a go - tho I was turning the cold one earlier and to know avail..... Will see what happens! :)

Must be doing something wrong......if I just turn the tap - nothing. If I also loosen the wing-nut beneath the tap I just get a soaking, but still no change on the gauge :(

Thanks Dave - I have had the other tap open each time too, but no matter what I do nothing is changing :(

ooookaaaay....then what does mean the valve is open?? Both the taps only turn so far before they tighten up again! :?

Agreed, it could just be an old filling loop that has never been removed by the lazy installer.

Look up under the boiler, you will see 2 small slotted valves that turn with a screwdriver in them.

The other filling loop could have a broken/stuck non-return valve.

Just a thank you for all your help guys - ended up getting a plumber round after telling the landlord about the problem, and as of today I have hot water again!!! :D

It was pretty much what you were all saying (and what I thought) - but I never would have been able to fix it as one of the parts needed to be replaced.

Thank you again
