Hi, I'm wanting to re fit a coal fire in my victorian terraced house. The old back boiler has been removed but the gas pipe runs straight through the chimney Brest to the corner of the room then through the wall and then runs up to the combi.

rerouting the pipe under the floor boards wont be a problem. My only concern is what distance should the gas pipe be from an open fire for safety and legal reasons. (don't want to void my insurance)

Not had the job quoted yet so want to get up to date before speaking to a fitter. Will be prepping up floor / joists myself so want to do it properly.

Whats the job likely to cost. from gas meter to vertical pipe its about 5.5 meters in a straight line.

Thanks Dave

As you are going to install it under the boards and presumably around the fireplace, then you will be plenty far enough away from any heat source.

All your RGI will have to work out is if the size of the gas pipe needs increasing due to the extra equivalent length of pipe that has been added.

Thanks. if thats the case should only need about an extra 2M of pipe and 3 elbows. Whats it likely to cost live in nottinghamshire.
