Food And Weight Loss

Work like a Trojan.

Never eat between meals.

Exercise regularly or lots, and make it count, i.e. see if you can actually get your lungs working, get muscles burning and work up a sweat.

The laws of physics have never changed and never will. Use more energy than you take in and you will lose weight.

The problem with all overweight people is the incessant need to feel full, and the pleasure of actually eating.

Get busy doing something else.

I eat a lot of fruit

I'm particularly fond of the Chocolate Orange.

I'm always curious about diets that condone lightweight eating throughout the day then a nice big meal at night...........when you metabolism is at its slowest!!!!!!

Jacko I thought that one had been myth busted?

Don't think so SS, its part of the biomechanics of the body. When fewer calories are consumed, or rather when calories aren't being consumed over a certain period the body reduces metabolism to preserve the calories. Obviously at night your metabolism slows down.
This forms one of the mainstay reasons for muscle training, it speeds up your metabolism, and costs more calories to maintain, hence the reason for high protein diets to maintain muscle mass.
But the real boost is that fitter/bigger muscles will burn calories at rest far faster than anything else, and as long as you have some decent nutrition inside your body you will lose far more bodyfat from a combination of muscle training and proper eating, than just avoiding calories altogether and taking a brisk walk in the park.

If you intake the same amount of calories as you always have done, BUT you exercise then hey presto (as you will already know) your body composition will start to change. You'll lose fat and gain muscle, but may not actually lose weight as muscle weighs more than fat.
If you want to see dramatic changes.........insert muscle training here!
And you'll realise why i said throw the fruit out the window, cos you'll be craving proper nourishment when you start hitting the weights.
:)

not that particular one but yes i have used bathroom scales

Chortle!

This one measures fat %'s etc.

To be honest its just a calculator built into scales and for that price! worst thing i can see is the need to either bend down or kneel down to play with the buttons each time you use it, it would be better designed with a panel at waist height in my opinion.
