leak at stack and boiler ticking/knocking noises

Hi

I have 2 problems that I'd like help with please or advice if I may -


(1) My boiler when on, have just hot water on at moment as is summer (is potterton flamino II: on wall in kitchen), at 1st, makes a ticking/cliking noise when on, what could this be, is there anyway i can cure this? is it a problem the hot water seems ok but the noise is kind of weird!

(2) my stack outside (plastic, blackn in colour) when the bath is emptied or the shower used, shower is over bath, water leaks from a connection into the brancj pipe from the wc which then joins the main stack vertical pipe. the pipe from the bath goes in above this pipe. it is smelly at times a little. is this bad design or a crack? is it easy to fix? it is a bit more than just a dribble??

if anyone can help me then i would be appreicative as i am not quite sure but am not a bad diy'er
