Hi all, looking for some help in choosing a new boiler, two diferent fitters suggesting two different boilers, either ferolli optimax he+ with 5 year warranty or alpha cdx combi with 4 year warranty, both coming in around same price with flue and new thermostat controllers so price not a major factor. Any input on which one is the better or more tried and trusted system would be of great help.
thanks.

go with the installer that gave you the most confidence, or came through recommendation etc.. you get the point, choose the installer not the product. Don't think there's a great deal between these 2 brands personally.

Neither boiler is in the top when it comes to reliability or long life expectations. The ones that are, come with a higher pricetag.
Search the forum, must be a thousand posts on this subject; even covered in FAQ

I can never understand installers who just quote for one single boiler model. In this case both lesser brands as well.

I would always suggest high, mid and low priced models and make it clear that I will fit anything and all at the same price!

regards, have you tried getting parts for one last 2 year old ferrolli i worked on wiring harness obsolete and most for he+ special order 7 - 10 days,

OP ignore the trolls and their petty squabbles.

the 2 boilers mentioned are not amongst the best, but out of the 2 i would choose the Alpha. have you thought about the Halstead Eden?(30Kw) i've fitted one of those recently and the customer is happy with it, whilst still being cost effective.
prefer the Vaillant Ecotec, but the Alpha or the Halstead are ok

ok, thats helpful information. Haven't seen a new ferroli in ages, hence I didn't give an opinion, something you clearly missed. I have heard they've improved mind you, but your comments if correct are a reason to be cautious.

Thats a more helpful opinion, much improved on your unhelpful abusive first post.

Please read the replies before branding everyone a muppet. Not one of us recommended the ferroli. Just because you've "bin in the game years" means naff all. I sort out problems left by people who say such things on a daily basis.

ps try and learn how to write and use a forum, your posts are hard to understand and akin to the ramblings of a teenager.

I dont normally do this but whilst you may have been installing boilers for 25 years, that does not mean very much to most current gas registered engineers. Most people who have been doing it for a long time have failed to keep up to date with modern technology.

Can you post or email me your web site address to prove that you are totally up to date? I expect to wait a long time.

Which Flue Gas Analyser have you bought?

Then there is your command of the English language! Your posting seems to totally ignore capitals, sentences and punctuation! Not even a full stop at the end !

The current situation is that a good command of written and spoken language is expected in any walk of life! You are welcome to telephone me me free ( from an identified number ) on the free fone number shown in my profile if you want to demonstrate you ability to speak clearly and succinctly.

who's rocked your apple cart Tony, many of us older guys have kept up with changes, whilst some newer guys haven't!
unfortunately being the best comes at a price and something has to give you can't spend all day learning new stuff at the expense of earning a living.
