Currently it is 15mm, should I cage it to 22mm? (it's an old open system with a back boiler).

The system's cold fill pipe is also in 15mm, is this correct?

the expansion pipe should be at least the same size as the flow and return pipe, usually 22mm, but could be 28mm, so existing flow and return pipe size will dictate your answer,

DIA cylinder cold feed 15mm ???
DIYBOY ,what do you mean by system

Primary (heating) feed 15 Vent 22 -- Secondary ( domestic) water feed 22/28 Vent 22

I guessed so, but it`s another ambiguous original post :? BB could have gravty primaries ...anything is possible.

apologies there boys.................as a DIYer, it's impossible to know the technical spec's that you pro's need to correctly answer our non-technical questions (and a spelling mistake...........cage???? don't help either  )

Yes the boiler only has 2 pipes (22mm) so I'll be slinging in a 22mm vent
