I know this has come up before but I'm not too good with boilers I have hot water but no heating the boiler fires up for a few seconds when the heating is turned on but goes off again and the rads don't get hot any info grately appreciated I have a moany mothering law here help please

Yes the pressure seemed a little high at 2.5 bar I released sum but it seems to just rise again

If the pressure rises when the boiler is off there must be a problem with either the filling loop not turning off or the HW heat exchanger passing from domestic to heating.

2 seperate faults rising pressure will not cause heating to play up .
Filter in the return isolating valve could be blocked or faulty sensor.

Do any fault lights flash

Agreed, however if the water is being replaced (leaking through prv due to overpressure) regularly then a build up of sludge is very likely and so cause the filter to block.
