trace heating for gutters

has anyone installed trace heating for gutters any info would be good .eg how to terminate the cable at stat and what you do with the end of the cable

Never heard of anyone trace heating gutters, probably because it would be pretty ineffective. Why do you want to do it?

Maybe he's maxed out on patio heaters, warm-air body driers and 2" recessed lights.....

Don't see how you could considering that trace heat tape relies on the pipework and tape being insulated to be effective. Its output may be as low as 10w/m. Even in a single pipe hot water system the boiler heats the water the tape only has to overcome the losses of the insulation w/m.
