Hello, I hope somebody can help with a problem that has been driving me crazy!

We have a regular Grohe shower in our bathroom. Normally, it takes a while for the hot water to start flowing out of it - perhaps about a minute of gradual trickling, then it kicks into action.

However, recently it has been taking longer and longer to "kick in" and now we just can't get any hot water flow out of it at all, it's just a weak spitting trickle at best.

There is plenty of hot water coming out of both the hot water tap in the bath, and in the sink, however, so there's no problem with the hot water supply.

Can anyone help? I am hoping that the gradual degradation of the shower would indicate something being blocked up.... any ideas?

Many thanks!

Take the silver flexible hose off at the shower valve end, turn the shower on and see if you get flow.

Yeah, already tried taking the hose off, and still no flow - so must be something before the hose...

We have a hot water tank in the airing cubboard, just behind the shower, at roughly the same level.

There's two pipes leading from this into the shower.

We don't have any kind of pump, so when it was working at its best it was still "average" flow.

sounds like the hot is getting airlocked.

how is the hot connected to the cylinder ?
have you any pics ?

I'll be able to post some later when I get home from work - thanks for your help so far!

It's connected as per this pic - this is our airing cupboard, and the shower is immediately to the left of this, where the pipes go through the hole in the wall...
