Hi there, can anyone help with this problem ??
I have a Potterton Prima 40f boiler system which intermittently does not ignite.
The system pilot light comes on and the boiler ignites, the heating is on for roughly three to five minutes before cutting out, the pilot light is still ignited. There is an overheat limit thermostat reset switch which when reset ignites the boiler again but as soon as I take my finger away from it it cuts out again. All the time the pilot light is on.
I have turned of at the electrics and from the thermostat knob and tried again but problem persists.
This had happened before on and off but was recently working ok. Now that the cold weather is here I need to get this sorted.
Are there any simple checks I could do to try and narrow down what the problem may be or at least understand it a bit more as I don't want to be stung by a cowboy engineer by not knowing what I'm on about.
