adhesive from ceiling tiles

Wrong forum.

Try a window scraper with a stanley knife blade in it. Will probably take off some plaster too, but you can fill that.

Remove as much of the adhesive as poss', then have it skimmed over with plaster. I've done a good few of them that way without any problems. You'll never really get it good enough any other way.

Well...plastering a ceiling eh?

I suspect the OP was hoping to DIY it

If he's got to get a plasterer in then he might as well wash his hands of the problem and get in the builders...

He can DIY it himself if he likes, that's up to him. Plastering it over is by far the best option. After prepping, it's half a days work,,,, finished.

Yeah, but to say 'just plaster over the ceiling' is a tall order if you are no good at plastering ceilings.

Well exactly Axel,,, and i never meant for him to do it. When i said have it skimmed over, i meant,, as a last resort,, get a plasterer in.
