its easier to get red deisel in smaller affordable quantities than 500 litres we all no made of money and i was enquiring about wether or not it can be done its a worcester danesmoor 12/14 if thats any helpp :D

Boiler would need setting up properly, probably technically possible but you'd struggle to find out what needed doing I suspect. New nozzle, air mix and all sorts.

I've seen the effects of putting red diesel through a boiler set up for kerosene. It's really not pretty, and cost a lot to put right.

i do drive diesel car and??? idid try some red diesel in boiler but it just black smoked . so iam guessing ditch the oil and tap a wood burner into heating system that may be better idea, i guess i could put a valve to shut off oil boiler and the tee off to wood burner

Diesel cars run quite nicely on heating oil. Apparently. I...errr..."know a mate" who ran a diesel Escort on heating oil for over a year

Be careful tapping into wood burners, there's a lot of safety issues to deal with

Its your house, you can do as you like, you might even be able to run your car on a bar of coal tar soap.

Just for info - the 12/14 B9A burner isn't for use on 35 sec oil - i.e no data seems to be supplied, but for the 15/19 B9B burner, a 0.50 80 deg S nozzle is recommended for 35 sec, set at 155 psi which is a canny bit higher than normal for these. 11.5 % CO2.
Anyway, I think heating oil and red diesel are now the same price thereabouts, so its best to stick with the thinner stuff. Higher calorific value too, I believe.
John :)

And if you were to order a delivery of 35 sec oil for a domestic property, HMRC would be along shortly afterwards to study the fuel going into your car engine. Plod and/or the Highways Agency routinely take samples in some parts.

If your boiler's flue Terminal is less than 2-00 metres from the Ground it is illegal to use 35Sec fuel your boiler is only a 12/14 It would be disasterous to convert this to 35 sec cold start lock outs would be frequent 35sec waxes in cold weather, we have had many customers converting from 35sec to 28 sec as 28 sec gives far better performance in Small boilers so in short stick with 28 sec!

I have heard if you filter red diesel through fullers earth it takes the pink dye out of it

It does. It also leaves fine particles of fullers' earth in the fuel which grind your diesel injection pump into expensive scrap.

HMRC don't rely on the colour, they test for chemical tracers which are not absorbed by fullers' earth, charcoal or anything else. They have portable laboratories. It might pass a casual dip by the police; the main use of the fullers earth scam is to sell red diesel to unwitting drivers, who then end up getting hit for the excise duty and diesel repairs.

I would have thought the filter would catch most of this
