my oil boiler is now leeking but no vis leeks ive been told it could be the water jacket that has gone, the system has not been on for about three weeks and the cold weather has been done to -14
could the cold weather made this happen??

It could certainly be a cracked water jacket that your boiler has, but if the leak isn't visible......whats happening? Is the boiler sitting a pool of water?
John :)

yah there is about 1/2in sitting in the drip tray, after cleaning it up and around 4 hrs its back to 1/2in

Well it does seem that there are some nasties lurking around somewhere...can you feel for any dampness where the pipes exit the boiler side? failing that it is likely that the water jacket has split or has rusted through but no great need for panic as very slight leaks can temporarily be fixed by adding a liquid sealant into the loft tank and allowing it to percolate round. Works for a while anyway, until you can decide what to do.
John :)
