i have some very large ceilings in a loft conversion to do, i have to roll the joint at the top therfore dooing it all in one set, where would you put a break in the set if at all or would you add something to the mix to slow it down and do the lot in one? i know in an ideal world i would get someone o help me but dont have a lot of work on and dont want to give what i do have away.

i take it its over board then what m2 are we talking about then m8
why not use the rolling set on it
the most iv done on me tod was 50m2 lid over board
nearly lost it but it turned out the mutz nutz

if your a competent plasterer then you should be ok as plstrng said how big is it.
the most i did with just a labourer was a 75m2 ceilin on board and it killed me but again looks the dogs danglies.
lets have the meterage of it and then we can make and educated decision as to the way to go about it

it about 50msq, if flat woulnt really worry. it is all new p/b and a good height to work at so prehaps i could,. Would you add anything to slow it down at all, i just hate that point near the end where you think ' feck, i ve lost it im never doing a ceiling again ' and then as if by magic it comes good! thanks for your replies so far

50 m2 get your self a competent labourer mabey one that can just flatten to help you out. give the boards a glue to slow the setting down then get your self ready to sweat thats what i did with the big lid i said about

id glue it the night before and in the morn just before you start plastering
or use WBA BOND IT the night before

ive not pva'd new p/b before, would anyone add dri wal addy instead or everyone pva? would i do it as if i were going to skim over artex ?
many thanks fellow spreads

leave the addy in the shop m8 just pva and skim it m8 like you skim over artex 2/3 coats of pva first will help you in the long run

everyones opinions are great , its like your all giving me a pep talk before the big show down!! im gonna hit it and ill let you know how it goes, thanks gents

just dont rush it m8 look at the lid and brake it down in your head dont **** a brick whats the size of the lid lenth width
pvaing over board as steve says is for pussys LOL loads of spreads pva over board
but i bet he will pva that big ceiling to hold it off for a bit soo he can catch
his breath
(PVA over board gives the less confident plasterer more play time)

the less confident plasterer OR the plasterer that dont fancie doin a rolling guage on a ceilin that will take all day, and fancies getting it done in half a day thus allowing him to do a second hit in the afternoon.
in conclusion pva mean half a day on the ceilin no pva means all day on the lid.
good luck mate try and get us a pic
