Power Down ADT Alarm

I’m letting out my property and the tenant does not want the ADT alarm, so I need to power down. I’m fairly good with electrics, so don’t really want to pay silly money for someone to do a 10 min job.

Alarm was installed 2008, Galaxy G3 panel I believe with internal sounder and external Elmdene siren yellow box.

The process I was thinking of using is as follows:

1) Switch off the alarm power feed at the consumer unit.
2) Remove the cover of the ADT main panel
3) Disconnect the battery blades inside the panel
4) Remove outside bell box using centre screw (which will be singing away by now!!), disconnect battery from piezo siren.

What I want to know - how easy is it to get at the battery for the siren (as I believe it is inside an armoured metal case), can it be found quickly before I become deaf??? :) The yellow bell box is quite low and can be reached with a fairly small ladder. I’ve considered letting the siren run itself out, but am a considerate neighbour!!

Any expert advice welcome!

Thanks
:D

Hi, thanks for your reply. Not wanting you to broadcast something sensitive like this - could you PM me with the rough disconnection process, or what cables I need to find. Speed is of the essence to save my hearing ha ha!
