The Hotel TV Programme

M

Mickymoody

I don't know if all regions see this docudrama, but it follows hotel staff and guests, in a B&B / Hotel.

The whole programme seems to be filled with anally retentive people from start to finish.

Most of the kitchen staff are Polish, commanded by an English chef, that has no idea what his staff are doing..as they don't speak the same language. The general manager is camp, but has been married, and bitches all the time, but the customers are dreadful. Either brain dead, totally illogical, without thoughts

Sounds about right - used to be resident maintenance man in a 4 star hotel  . another truism - all KP`s are p***heads and all staff are shagging each other ;)

I've seen bits of this. I remember them saying they won't employ English workers as we're not as reliable/hard-working. Imagine the uproar if they'd turned round and said 'we don't employ foreigners, they're not as reliable or hard-working'!

Also, what sort of hotel guest agrees to having a camera in their room?

Unfortunately you cannot read much into hotel reviews, as they are very subjective.

You don't know the circumstances of the individuals who are providing the review, they may just be out and out little *hits, they may be competitors, they may for example be people who lets say have previously been able to afford 5 star hotel acaccommodationut have hit on hard times and needed to book a budget hotel yet still have very high expectations without paying the cost.

My view is take it as you find it yourself, you do not need to give feedback, if you don't like it then don't go back again, but let others make up their own minds.

Must go - boss coming!!

Wont employ english workers but will accept greenbacks from english customers !!!! this place will be added to the boycott list

I mean, I'm not having a go at the hotel, in itself, as I've never been, but who in their right mind would agree to as stated, have cameras in guest rooms, dogs running around, obvious managment issues; THEN let a TV crew in, so see all their shortcomings, then they are shocked when they get a bad internet review?

I stayed at a Pontins a while back, for the kids, and the apartment wasn't as stated, and grubby, complained at the time, and later to head office, and posted a review on a similar site as advertised, got a lot of comments from people that stayed there at the same time as me, but also got a LOT of bothersome calls from Pontins headoffice, do you want this or that offer, even after telling them that I wish to have no further business with them, and wish to receive no mailshots, or phonecalls. I suspect they saw my review, and were kind of bullying me.

There is also a tendancy for other budget TV, Driving School, with Jeremy Kyle, is nothing about driving, just PR for the armed forces, Watchdog - don't get me started, any amount of Carboot/Auction/Antique programme..to the point of high art '"Show me the Monet"...yuck! Also get your design into one of Britains top shops...give it up!

Sounds like a microcosm of the UK really. :( (Except for general manager, read politicians)

Just watched some of it , the polish people do speak English, probably better than the jordie ekky by thump northern bloke or the welsh fella butty is that jacket your coat over by thur.
And as youve probably guessed they also employ English people.

Well , there is the welsh guy , the northern guy , the girlies, and a few more.
Ive only seen two foreigners if you dont include the welsh valleys commando only ghay in the village. Both of which seem like nice blokes and speak very good English.
But I'm not watching it now , it's pants.

To be honest I peer up from the screen of my laptop to watch it, just remember being surprised/outraged when I heard it.

Pretty sure all of the cleaning/room servicing staff are foreign (didn't they say tonight there's one Romanian in a team of Polish workers?)

Dunno , you could be right.
Just missed the first half of orphan on c4 though.
