Hi, really could do with some help. Washing machine stopped working half-way through a wash. Pump is working fine, fills and empties ok. No weird noises or smells, no electrical smells. Have taken the brushes out, suspecting they may be worn, but there's a good 1/2 inch on them (ok that's a bit low but not enough to stop the motor from working). Main fuse is ok and i've taken the motor out, it spins okay, that all looks good. So, what can it be? Any ideas? I'm going to get a new set of brushes just in case, however if anyone else has any ideas, I would appreciate it.

Cheers!

Check for broken wire in motor block and check loom under the bottom weight poss broken wire.

Toc open curcuit in motor windings. Or pcb tracks blown.

Sorry it's taken so long, been busy all week and only actually had chance to sort the damn machine out today. So, I got the new brushes and changed them, then had a wonderful time trying to get the drive belt back on, which I did after an hour's effort (first time doing it so I don't feel too bad). Before putting brushes on I cleaned the motor up, wire brushed the electrical terminals and did another check on the wiring, just in case. Once all that was done and fitted back in, and before I put the belt on, I fired up the machine and the motor span quite happily! Wahoo! So, thanks for the help with the question! I won't be quite so ignorant (if) it happens again.!
