Bristol to London season ticket £10,000+!
What sort of salary do these people earn to allow them to use the train to get to work?

Their rent and mortgages are cheaper so it's not just about salary.

Ex Girlfriend did Market Harbrough To St Pancras about the same on a season ticket. She was on 68k.
I used the motorbike, was more fun and cheaper :D

But as mentioned the 4 bed house was costing sod all compared to London. Got sick of it and came back anyway.

The Government have or are going to be asked by the EU to remove subsidise to the rail net work.

No doubt the Gov. will take on it's usual stance of bending over and getting its ar.e shafted.

That would require a 50% increase, glad I don't commute.

It's not just network trains that are steep. I think it's a min of £4 to go anywhere on the tube. Just one station.

So much for encouraging the use of public transport. Buses in Bristol are about the most expensive in UK, hence high car ownership here (and we're lazy b'stards!). Rip off Britain again.

No sympathy for commuters. Want a London wage without all the bills that come with it.

I heard someone say yesterday that soon they'll have trouble finding people to work in the city

BTW if this affects oyster card then they're bastards!

£1.90 off peak on a train with an Oyster.
Day tickets are capped with bus and train.
All day bus only about 4 quid.
