What does the ratio,ppm,co2 supposed to read when the boiler is safe?
Just had a boiler serviced & the corgi man left me with a piece of paper that says the ppm is 779 & co2 10.2.
What is the ratio?
Is this ok?

Boiler is a potterton profile 80e.

A Potterton Profile with a high CO reading like yours needs further investigation.They normally run better than that.

Excuse me for butting in as a humble mathematician - because I can only guess at what those numbers mean. (Would it be ppm CO and %CO2 in the flue gas? :?: :?: :?: ) But I do know that the conversion factor from percent to ppm is 10,000.

Does that not make the ratio 0.00764? :) :) :) Or should I stick to particle accelerators? :oops: :oops: :oops:

Suggest Headcase should spend a little more time helping on here next time or maybe just STFU.

These 0000000000000s can be a PITA.........

(10.2 CO2 x 10000) = 102,000
 
I would say that you don't really need to know what these numbers mean but obviously your service engineer doesn't either if I got a reading of co 779 ppm I would not just write that on a form and leave. They should be taking some further steps to SERVICE your boiler did they actually SERVICE the boiler or just stick an analyser in it?

The 0.779 should of read 0.0779 , the missing zero is possibly the keypad getting sticky. :rolleyes:
 
The analyser works all that out and displays the ratio, so what's the point?

Always best to check and check again when posting!

If you dont do it then someone else will always notice!

I do apologise for posting incorrect ratio results. (maths was my weak point )
I always relied on the fga which would do all the maths.
I'm big enough to apologise when wrong.
