Kitchen downlights, rocker switch + JB. Switched Live?

Can someone kindly tell me if I have this correct for the switched live connection? I have some brown sleaving for the negative.

In addition for some reason 2.5mm cable was used from the rocker switch to the JB. I should be able to use 1.5mm shouldn't I to make it a bit easier to route to the JB?. I mean 1.5mm is used for the feed and it's fused down to 3amps at the spur.

Do I have this right?

Yes. All correct. Neutral for a/c- not negative

Yes. 1mm² would do.

Edit - I should have said JB must remain accessible for testing.

I've been looking at the bank balances before payday and have it on the brain

I thought I could go as low as 1mm but I only have a reel of 1.5
It's literally a 1.5m run to the JB.

JB is located ontop of the cuboard. Not burried etc...

Thanks. I'll take a look at this.

I have heard that mentioned before but as the existing wiring is in place and currently switched off/isolated at CU. I'm basically just linking up to the JB that was disconnected when the cornice was replaced/repaired. I just didn't see what order the cables were in. With the possible swap out of the 2.5mm for 1.5 cable from the switch. I'd have thought this to be relatively minor job.

Is there a fee involved, does someone have to come out to check my connecting up? Seems a little overkill for a simple junction box connection. It'd be like asking them to verify i've wired the plug to the kettle/toaster correctly.
