Number of bricks required

Need to have a garden wall rebuilt and have been online looking at brick calculators but had varied results.

The wall will be 15 metres long by 1.4 metres high, single skin with piers.

the results from various calculators vary from 1,250 upto 2,400 although the c. 1,250 is the more common result - does this sound right?

also, how much sand and cement will i need? Again the calculators are saying 14 25kg bags of cement and 1,150 kg of sand, so 3 bulk bags?

60 bricks per m²

For the piers, just count the number of, and multply by the area of.
Add to the total.

1.5 Ton of sand is about 3 bags.

not sure I follow - what do you mean by a 4" wall not being enough? One of the brick calculator websites did come up with c. 2,400 bricks required!

You need to be certain that it won't blow over on a windy day, it may fall on someone if it does.

I'm replacing a brick wall that was blown down a few weeks ago in the high winds, although it was fairly knackered (mortar beds were completely gone and would crumble) so should be okay on the planning front as it is exactly the same height

Nobody's referring to planning but trying to prevent you building a wall that's gonna blow over again. Did you not scroll down that link?

I didn't - laziness!

I am in the Zone 3 and the 1.2m height is slighhtly higher than it will be and it will be built will piers and is also semi sheltered so 1 brick thick should be okay - the reason the previous wall came down was through lack of maintenance by the previous owner, you could move it back and forth
