Hi I am so stuck. Have a combi boiler downstairs ten years old and still good. I have a loft conversion and would like to fit a shower in it., Can anyone please help advise me what sort of shower I would need. I have looked at electric but would like to know do I need a pump? the water pressure up there is low and I do not understand so anyone have any clue please. thanks so much Julie

You can't have a pump.

You can have an electric shower of a thermostatic shower of the conventional kind.

You can't have a power shower either.

Don't confuse pressure with flow.

Whats the water pressure like in the rest of the house ?
Is the loft conversion lower than elsewhere ?

In the kitchen is the cold more powerful than the hot or are they about the same ?

The answer to these questions will help us to answer your question !

Whats the water pressure like in the rest of the house ? The boiler is in the bathroom on ground floor and the bathroom is fantastic. There is a change in the kitchen which is not quite as powerful with the cold a little more powerful that the hot. Then it is the same two floors up in the loft, the cold is more powerful than the hot.
Is the loft conversion lower than elsewhere ? yes it is a lot lower

You are confusing pressure and flow.

Your cold will almost certainly have a higher FLOW than the hot, almost everywhere, depending on the size of the pipes.

You will need to measure the pressure and flow in the conversion.

Now Now Dan don't confuse the lady !

We might be able to establish if there is a lot of difference in the pressure and flow of the loft conversion to the rest of the house ~ which I was trying to establish from a distance !

I would guess that there's some iso's in the loft conversion that's effecting
both !
I really don't think we need to get in to fluid dynamics to establish the flow or the formula to establish the pressure !
