re siting telewest broadband box

I need to re-site a telewest broadband box/socket from one room to another.

I dont need to add and extra cable but i need to lose about 4 metres of it and re-make the end

I know the telewest end connections are crimped but i was thinking can i cut off the 3 metres i dont need and just fit a standard f connector in its place then re connect

Are we discussing coaxial cable? If you shorten that, you'll reduce the attenuation. Are you even allowed to touch it under the terms of your contract? Why not simply coil up the excess?

Yes, a twist-on 'F' plug should be fine.

The cable in question is clipped along the front of my house and quite poorly done I must add. I want to pull it all the way back and into another room hence the reason I want it cut shorter rather than coiling ito as either way the end connector has to come off.
