odometer stopped working

I have a 1990 benz 190E with 100,000 miles and the odometer has stopped working. Is this something easy to repair and if so what is required.

Being made in 1990 it probably has a mechanical cable drive which I expect has broken.

If the cable had broken, though, would the speedometer not have failed, also?

You are quite correct, I didn't read the mail properly - again the speedo itself must be faulty.

The odometer functiln is controlled by the processor which is built into the cluster assembly. so you will need to replace your instrument cluster.

and relates to an analogue display, numbers around the edge of little wheel drums, advancing in sequence.
