Hi !
We have a 1950s dorma bungalow with central heating – the pipework of which downstairs runs on the surface from ceiling to floor then along skirting to the radiators and look appalling.
The walls are solid as is the floor, we have been advised to box the pipework in – however a) the pipes are not even in the corner of the room but about 8-10cm in from the corner so would need moving anyway b) this still will not achieve the finish we are after.
We were advised against burying them in the wall because of the mess and because we would never get a really good plaster finish over the groove. The mess dosnt bother us and we would prefer the possibly not perfect finish compared to the unsightly pipework or indeed boxing.
Anyone with any experience of the problem and suggestions would be gratefully received
Thanks!
