Who'd have thought this would have upset a serial killer ?

Yes their still are a few good people in the world. Usually people with strong faiths and a belief in God.
Reminds me off Gordon Wilson.
Though I don't think the perpertrator was upset. More like humbled at seeing human kindness and compassion in its purest form.
Heathens could never acheive that.

Nonsense. You are confusing morality, humanity and kindness with religion.

They are entirely separate.

In the link they are all one. A religious guy with kindness and humanity forgiving an evil guy.
Let the heathens and God bashers step forward who would follow in his steps.

yes, one person in the clip who appeared to have a combination of several of those characteristics.

And do you suppose that none of the other people in that clip considered themselves to be religious?

My point is that some people may have one or more of those characteristics, but it does not follow that they have all the others. Have you fallen into the trap of assuming that one characteristic always carries the others with it?

Very few people have been burned at the stake by atheists.

Many people claim to be religious but fail to live up to the good standards their faith teaches.
Those were probably the ones doing the burning.

A religious guy
ah, so you've redefined "religious" to mean "having all the admirable qualities" and have fallen ino the trap of thinking that "not religious" means "having no admirable qualities." I guess there must be a lot of not-religious priests, bishops and nuns around.

You suffer from circular thinking.

If ridgeway murdered your daughter would your heathen upbringing allow you too forgive him like the guy in the link.
Like Gordon Wilson did? Nah didn't think so. Those gentlemen are on a different level. Something you can aspire too but will never reach.
Something all heathens can aspire too but will never reach!

If you mean that there are no non religious people who forgiven similar , then I'm afraid you are wrong.

your heathen upbringing
Your imagination is leading you astray
allow you too forgive him like the guy in the link...? Nah didn't think so. Those gentlemen are on a different level. Something you can aspire too but will never reach.

Your imagination is leading you astray again

I wonder what you mean by a "heathen?"

Why the hell would you want to forgive someone who had murdered your daughter and taken away the only life she will ever have?
Do you think that would make you a better person? It makes you a fool.

Once you forgive, you can get on with the rest of your life or do you let it chew and chew?.

I suppose that might work for some people....not me though.
The only kind of closure I would want would be to watch the killer die.
