Getting plasterboard upstairs??

I'm sure you'll all think this question is daft, but hey ho.........

I need to board over my ceilings upstairs in a small 1930's 3 bed semi, but will I get 8 x 4's up round and into the bedrooms?

All depends on the layout of the house, I can just about get them upstairs in my house but that doesn't mean that you will be able to...

Why are you using those behemoths!

Use either 2400mm x 900mm or 1800mm x 900mm.

Bigger sheet = less joints, I like the thought of 2400 x 900, didn't know there was such a size! I'll try using those if they are readily available

I'm not sure what you are asking. Lath and plaster ceilings, for example, are very strong and flexible but like everything else they will eventually fail.
