There's probably a simple reason for this not being obvious, however...

Is there any way to make the Keypad (or anything else for that matter... internal - of course!) show whether or not the alarm is set?

don't think you can display if system is set on the galaxy, but the easy way is program an output to set and connect a LED to the output.

Mine is set the way Europlex says. Maybe yours displays the same banner whether set or not. If so then...

Menu 51, option 12, banner.
This parameter has three settings:
1 - Top Line
2 - Bottom Line
3 - Show on Set.  0=Off (blank display when set), 1=On (Display normal banner when set)

Make sure that you can't see the keypad from outside or Billy Burglar will know whether your alarm is set or not!!

It's a Grade 2 requirement NOT to show the alarm status, even if you can't see it from outside...

I figured that something along those lines would be in place, that's fine...

Thanks for your replies folks... I like the idea of LED indication but not idea where I could put one without Billy being able to spy it

Why do you 'need' to know? If the alarm is Set (On) when someone enters the system an entry tone will start, telling them that the alarm is On, and will need to be turned Off.

What if you're already in the house and live in a PIR'less place?

Sorry, I'm obviously having a bad day, it has been a long day at work. Could you please explain what you mean.

No PIRs.

Set alarm at night (full, night, part - whatever) goto bed, wake up...

Would like to know its state when waking up and going down in the morning.

It's to be hoped, the the same state you set it to.

Indeed!

But Without triggering any Entry, it wont be long til we try to Exit, only to get the Entry countdown...!

As Europlex has mentioned - can't you glance at the keypad? No display = set. Banner diisplayed = not set
