Extractor fan switch position

OK,

Let's start from the beginning.

You have a fan, in a room. Which room - a kitchen, bathroom, utility, where?

What sort of fan is it: standard, humidity, timer, PIR?

How does it switch on and off. With the light, or does it have a separate switch?

Answers please, then we can discuss the question. Thanks

Its in cloak room
Its timed and via light switching
Thanks

Is the isolation outside the cloak room or can it be inside the bathroom area?
You can have it inside a cloakroom so it may as well go next to the fan

but it is not advisable to have it in a bathroom .

The accessory should be mounted at 1200mm or close to ceiling ??
It is not for every-day use so it is usually placed near the ceiling.

(1200mm. is the maximum height for ordinary light switches in new-builds.)
