Hello, all. I urgently needed to create a laptop cooling stand and in the process grew an interest in electronics. So as the one I have created is a bit bodged and slapdash, I would like to create something smaller, a bit better looking, and with more basic features.

The one I wish to create would have different fans, maybe 4, be a bit smaller, and an on off switch. I am also thinking, maybe some ambient LEDs to signify when it's on; considering a tray that slides out, which would contain a speaker, if this is possible through my future 12v power supply? Also if it is possible to wire a single speaker to process both left and right speaker signals; I may also need some DIY wordwork help.

I am wondering if anyone would genuinely like to help me create this project through this forum and go through the processes and result with me? I would like to do this from objects around the house if possible, minus LEDs and resistors if need be.

Thanks Gaz.

The image below is my current slapdash version, this contains an on off switch, and 3 12v fans running through a 10v power supply.

Hello, foxhole. Appreciate the link, and I have researched more laptop stands than imaginable; the idea is to learn the processes and enjoy the task.

Sounds like you are trying to reinvent the wheel. :) :) :)

Heh, maybe, it is just nice to create and understand things better. I appreciate all aspects of technology, a little step closer to the guys who first thought these things up, and a future hobby possibly, a bit of fun.
