Ariston 23Mffi cutting out on heating

Hi all,

I have the above boiler which appears to be producing hot water fine, however, when the heating is put on, it comes up to temperature and locks out, subsequent attempts at hitting the reset button fails after a few moments- if I leave it for a while it shall work again but not for long.

Had a corgi guy in whom advised it was the thermister, charged me £50 as a call out- a few days after their supposed annual service. They have now said it is not the Thermister but the flow group/valve and shall cost £250.00 (Deans gas £120)

Problem is, is it the flow group at all, I seem to be paying for parts I do not really need. miffed about the whole thing so far.Anyone any ideas what really could be the problem?

Try concentrating on the button, I'm sure you will hit it eventually

Hi all,

Would anyone be able to advise what this problem may be, I do not wish to change the flow group- if it is not the part needed. I have read several posts on the forum but none seem to point at this precise problem.

Any advice welcomed.
