Not sure where to ask... so I thought I'd try here...

Can someone tell me what glue I need to stick to metal?

I want to get blank cufflinks and put small objects onto them
Anything from plastic objects (like dice) to other metal objects

I thought someone here might know :)

Thanks

Super glue (cyanoacrylate adhesive) or an epoxy resin. The bigger the adhered attachment the more likely you are to knock it off. But these glues will adhere the items in the first instance.

the superglue u refer to... is it different to the standard superglue u get everywhere?
i would have though this wasn't a good choice since it breaks after time?
thanks (saying without being an expert of course)

Superglue won't last. Epoxy resin on roughened surface is the way to go.

No sorry, cyanoacrylate adhesive is the general name for these fast drying glues, super glue is a manufacturers trade name for their version of the product. It will stick the parts you wish to adhere but as I say the issue is they will be prone to getting knocked and break the bond. If you were displaying the cuff links it would be fine for that application.

Epoxy resin Araldite for example, is the daddy when it comes to sticking metal but it is messy and not clear, you would need to practice on a few scraps first to see if it is going to be easy enough to work with.

Once you have adhered objects to the cuff links OM2, what do you intend doing with them?

Why would you want to stick to metal?

Agree with what the others say above. Also I don't know what the other's think, but I reckon the slow setting type of epoxy is better than the quick setting one.

I thought so!

Just be careful though, try a few samples for longevity before you sell them, or wise you could end up with a bad reputation for selling items that are unfit for purpose.

Good luck - let us know how you get on.
