Dodgy looking material

Moved to a new house a few weeks ago - it has a nice block constructed workshop in the garden. The homebuyers report flagged up that the internal roof of the workshop is possibly AIB (which in itself is ok so long as it's painted and not disturbed).

Went out there to start cleaning the floor up in preparation for painting the floor as it's all a bit grubby and then started to look at some dodgy looking board on one of the walls. One panel of it is broken and looks very fiberous so I decided against starting to sweep the place out stirring up dust. The board is nailed to the wall in small panels (assume there might be some timber behind). The lower part of the wall looks like it has some thin board covering the same fiberous board underneath.

Any thoughts on what this is, am I right to be concerned?

I would say that it is old fibreboard which is pretty harmless. Just my opinion based on the pictures though!

Hmm, was just those fibres on the broken bit which scared me a bit given that the HBR said the ceiling was possibly AIB (that's the painted stuff in the pictures).

My dad said the same thing, he said he's 99% sure it's not asbestos. I'll remove it all at the weekend as there's damp getting in somewhere behind it. Will hose it, mask up and wear a disposable coverall anyway just in-case it's not what it seems.

Either it is or it isn't. Any idiot can say possibly,but not all get actually paid for it as well!

Agreed, it looks like fibreboard.
