Purchased a new patio door from a local manufacturer.

The door is a Liniar Patio Plus which is currently top of the range and was chosen as such.

Ordered it with trickle vents and delivery took 2 weeks - they have installed the trickle vents so that they foul the door - you can open the door 12" only before you would wipe off the vent cowling!
I noticed this as soon as they delivered the door, and rejected it so the delivery driver (employee of the manufacturing firm) took the door back.

The manager of the firm called me at 17:00 this evening saying that they will just move up the vent up which if you look at the pic will be in free air.

I went mad on the phone as this will leave the back open so that rain will get in as well as insects!!! - the rain especially as it will run down the contour of the channel stright onto the back of the vent cowling.

I'm going to be at there door first thing tomorrow morning as i'm so so annoyed as this has mucked up my living room refurb that was meant to be done before xmas.
Also the glass supplied has a ripple in it!!

What do you guys think?

well dont accept delivery unless youre happy with it and definately dont pay, its obviously in a silly place at the mo, but surely it cant be moved without leaving holes? id get them to remake without vents, If they only order glass in they will have to reorder this too but you will have to tell them. a few manufacturers dont make their sliders so it may take a while to remake

Doh that was dumb

Normally trickle vents in patio doors are done in an add-on to the head.

It may be possible for them to find a slim line vent that would work but if they cant they will have to remake the door frame.

Sometimes glass distorts during the toughening process and their are acceptable limits of distortion, It will be down to the glass supplier to decide if they will replace it or not.

Very good of them. Surely they would only have needed to remake the frame and thats the cheapest part

Or just do with out the vents in the door (Horrible things).

Could always add some vents elsewhere if they were needed for regs
