Started a damp proofing job today. Hack off old render on party wall, drill and inject then render and skim.
There's a section of the wall that was covered by wood cladding that's so damp the concrete bricks have actually crumbled away leaving couple of large areas where it goes straight in to the cavity. This obviously needs repairing.
Was going to fill below the floor to just under the floorboards with ballast then lay a dpm and then rebuild about 1m up with thermalite blocks. The reason for the ballast is the course in line with the floor has crumbled away so need it to support the bricks.
