Bathroom on other side of wall from Consumer Unit/meter

Hello,

I am looking to move my bathroom. However, I have just realised that one of the walls of the new bathroom will be shared with the consumer unit (consumer unit being on the other side of the wall of course).

1) Is this a bad idea? is there a requirement to ensure the wall is tanked/waterproof boarded just in case?

2) Also, do the existing sockets need to be removed, along with wire, or just fused shut?

Consumer unit on the opposite side of the wall is of no relevance at all.

Any sockets in the room which will be the new bathroom will need to be disconnected and the old cables removed completely.

It's fine.

Sockets in the room will have to be removed.

you can keep the sockets if they are 3m from zone 1 and rcd protected.
