Why ? Because some/most joiners no longer seem to be capable of doing a decent job ? Perhaps all part of the concept of scrapping real apprenticeships in favour of the "6 week skill course"This is why decorators caulk was invented
I once had a joiner turn up on a job, in 1974, who had gone through a government sponsored "training course" who's entire toolkit comprised a claw hammer and an axe !.
