Consumer units and not a registered competent person

I moved a CU today for a customer and cut the suppliers seals.

My customer knows I'm not registered but like most normal people he's not bothered, and he knows my criminal activity means the job will get done without waiting for the DNO to do anything, and I'll do a good job. That's all that customers actually care about.

I'm not dishonest. I've never pretended to be registered.

That's my view (using dishonest=untruthful), but BAS is using other meanings of the word to say that you are 'dishonest' because you have deliberately broken rules (maybe even laws).

Is pulling out the main fuse / cut-out a regular service offering for a DNO?

My DNO is Northern Powergrid, but I cannot see a service to remove the cut-out.

One could do that, particularly if one were a linguist or pedantic about language.
Do not go gentle into the mire of misuse,
Learning should burn and rave at ignorance and incompetence;
Rage, rage against the laxity which would class a murderer as a person who holds an honourable position, who is respectable, blameless and deserving of honour.

But forget about murderers - you originally described DaftPunk as honest. He's not - he is a grubby little criminal who has deliberately made lawbreaking and contempt for his customers an intrinsic part of his business just to make a couple of pounds more per day.

Then he is mistaken - you cannot possibly be doing a good job.

You are not a professional, you are a grubby little criminal who has deliberately made lawbreaking and contempt for his customers an intrinsic part of your business just to make a couple of pounds more per day.

I'm not dishonest.
If you believe that to be true then you can add "stupidly deluded" to your list of failings.

If you don't believe it then you can add "liar".

I think that you are somewhat overstating/over-interpreting what I wrote. What I referred to as being "in some senses honest" was what he had written. It was not a general statement about him ...
... you are, in some senses, a brave an honest person to say these things .... but perhaps some things are best not actually said, particularly in a public 'DIY' forum.
Kind Regards, John

His electrical installation is exactly as he wanted it and completed within his time scale. It's all safe and properly installed, tested and commissioned. Just because he doesn't have a pointless piece of red tape paperwork doesn't make it a bad job. The customer couldn't be happier.

I'm yet to meet an electrician who doesn't cut suppliers seals.

He is fully aware of this and like most customers, could not care less.

You have never met the guy or inspected his work? Bold type is angry man syndrome

Kindest regards,

DS

I don't have to.

He has deliberately incorporated criminal acts into his business processes, which is so far removed from the standards that should be displayed by a professional that it is a complete abandonment of any concept of duty of care.

By definition he cannot be doing a good job.
