Hi All,

I am planning an extension and am trying to find ways of reducing costs. Is it possible to have a cavity wall of block-insulation-Block and then render? i'm guessing this would be cheaper than using expensive LBC bricks?

Thanks in advance

Ben

Thanks, would this be cheaper than brick?

Short term - marginally (especially if you have expensive coloured render system).

Long term - no.

Bricks trump block and render by a long way in terms of looks, future maintenance and versatility (bricks are easier to repair invisibly) etc.

You would be insane to choose render over brick.
