Isolating tails, are they better these days?

I think hes on about the ones with screwdriver slot in, you can then turn lockshield off, close screwdriver slot and remove the rad full of water for decorating,
I have not used them but they will leak they look cheap and nasty,
Its just as easy to thump the end of the rad or cap it before removing and u can flush it out while its off so they are pointless really.
DIY product i dont think pros would use them

I hope people use them
I'd love to see someone remove a 600x2000 double full of water
Oh I think you'd get it off OK...most likely drop it on your toe in the process and you'd never lift it back up either, but it'd come off

Anyway, anyone have a recommendation for decent isolating tails? (Rather than start a debate about whether they are a good idea

Well you have.:)

+ 1 = Dan. No need for one usually and perhaps another source of a leak in years to come. Also had them block with magnetite because of the small bore. If you are going to use them make sure they are full bore. That's all that's in my retro-repair kit any-ways.

It can be done on and off on ones own but I must admit best to remove water first.;) The difficult rads are long ones with three brackets under an overhanging windowsill, best have two peoples to acheave this so you can blame the other one if it drops.

Tried them once but they don't fit the original pipe centres so wasn't worth the bother of altering the pipework.
